    Vista x64 Overclocking???

    Broke down and finally got premium 64bit and at first I was getting massive BOSD's and lockups/freezes while in OS. I took out my 2x2 Gig chips and replaced with 2x1 Gig chips and now everything is running mucho perfecto =)

    My question is...

    I tried to overclock back to my XP Pro 32bit config which was.. (e6600 @ 3.2Ghz) and on OS Load i would BSOD and restart automatically. I figured this might be a CPU setting so I BIOS'd back to default and then only touched the FSB and ram speeds/timings and left all CPU functions enabled that were default, and still BSOD. BUT this was using the 2x2 gig sticks and not the 2x1 gig sticks.

    I'm not sure if this is a Vista problem or my Mainboard's problem because my P5B doesnt support 2x2 gig sticks at DDR2-800, so I want to try to OC again using the installed 2x1 gig sticks but I'm not sure if it is even possible to OC a 64 bit system due to CPU limitations while running 64bit functions.

    What are your advices on this subject?

    TY =)

    Nevermind...

    It turns out the single cause for my BSOD's was the 2x2 gig sticks and was the reason I was BSOD'n on Vista startup. I'm not usre if this is the mobo's fault or Vista's fault, the BSOD read something like.. "System_service_exception" physical dump...

    Anyways all is good and looking to run Prime '95 to see how stable things are

    I know the 'Vista Experience Score' doesnt mean alot but how come yours is only 5.3?

    Your system isnt alot different to mine and i get 5.5.

    If anything yours should be higher as i only run my CPU at 2.8ghz.
