Andy Samurai Master Scasm-1000 by Scythe?

Have you guys heard about this cooler? I was browsing Japanese hardware review website today and came to know it. Seems like a decent cooler though and it seems it's very popular among Japanese people. Looks like it's been around for sometime in Japan but haven't heard much about it here in UK, have we? Only return result I got from froogle transfered me to Ebuyer website who seem to have one in stock. Has any of you happened to have one in your pc? If so how is the performance like? I'm really interested to know.

Theres this totally unreliable little snippet of info lol

I'm not sure about the top down coolers.. i prefer the tower style ones. I've had a couple
of ninja's which i find very good and the infinity is well rated...pretty much anything from scythe seesm to be recomended lol

But would you really want to try your cooling to an hsf with a comedy name?

If you actually buy one will you post performance results here? I'm curious, or so people tell me

Saw a review yesterday where it was totally outclassed by several (tower) coolers. Can't recall where it was, sorry.

Not much cheaper than a Thermalright Ultra 120 (This Week Only at OCers, and not too much can go wrong with a HS, so their poor support isn't a big issue) with a Scythe S-Flex fan.

Take a look at this baby: http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=383006

I stuck one of these in last month and the cooling/performance/low noise is incredible.

Yeah but, Blitzen, it's one big mofo and the reviews, and even Scythe's own website, all say it doesn't cool quite as well as the top towers, no doubt to using a 100mm fan rather than a 120mm.

Don't quite see the point of it meself.

In Hexus's recent roundup the Miné actually beat Scythe's supposedly top-end heatsink, the Infinity.

Yes by one degree. This was in an Antec 900 Gamer's case using a P4EE CPU. In other tests I've seen, featuring more likely setups, like say a P182 and a C2D, it's the other way round. Usually the Ninja+ (for some reason not included in the Hexus roundup) slightly beats both, which given it's the smallest of the 3 would get it my vote.
