    Best 2.5in IDE HDD

Looking for a new 2.5in hdd for my laptop, has to be IDE, and only around 60-80GB or so, but may be tempted by bigger (see below). I know that there's no perfect drive, but anything that I should possibly avoid? (have been heard Toshiba arn't particularly good and I know Hitachi run hot and noisy)

Was tempted by the 120GB Samsung on scan as its only £42 which makes it very cheap/GB, although am currently looking at the 60GB Seagate which is more expensive/GB but I had a Seagate last and I know they are generally a safe bet.

    Any ideas?

You won't go wrong with either Samsung or Seagate, they are two of the better brands in the HD market.
The current generation of Samsungs are very quiet
Google the model numbers and see if you can come up with any benchmarks / reviews

I bought one of the Samsung 120Gb drives for my laptop. It has only been in place for a couple of months, but it is quiet. I use Samsung 3.5" drives in my main systems without problems. they do seem quiet!
