    Types of IDE Cable

    I noticed that, while I was trying to sort out my PC, there were two different types of IDE cables - one with thicker, fewer 'strands' that the other. Just would like to know if there's any difference (if any).

    The newer "thinner" cables are ATA100/133. You can tell because they have one pin blanked out IIRC.

    I assume that ATA 100/133 is faster?
