    video card dimensions

    Hi,

I don't suppose anyone here has come across a retailer or website, that states graphics card dimensions?

I have just tried to fit an Ati radeon X800gt into a new case, but it sticks on the btx cooler. Its about 6mm to long, but I can only safely shave about 2mm off the end of the card.
For info, case is a Thermaltake Bach series VC9321SNSB-02.

Need a new card, but daren't risk buying anything, in case that doesn't fit either.

I've currently got around problem by fitting an ati X600SE - its a low profile card, originally shipped by Dell - problem is, its awful!!!

The X800 is 190mm long in total, height and thickness not a problem as mounted sideways, using a riser card. If anyone has a half decent card that is shorter than this, will be most grateful if you could reply here.

    Thanks in advance.

    Re: video card dimensions

not seen sites publish that info before.

I thought thermaltake may have a compatable gfx list on their site but no joy..perhaps you could contact their support?

EDIT: amazon seems to give card dimensions on some items

    Re: video card dimensions

The only dimensions i've found (yes im bored and i've been looking out of curiosity lol) is for the 8600GT which is also 190mm

in the this pic you can see the 8500gt /8600gt / 8600GTS stacked on top of each other.

Judging by that the 8500 would fit.

    Re: video card dimensions

Thanks for your efforts Mike. I have managed to "get around" the problem. I have cut wedges out of the plastic casing for the BTX cooler and the graphics card can sit nicely in there.

Everything working great, card not going anywhere either. I'll check amazon in future though, for any possible info on sizing.

    Cheers again.
