Bloody Hell!

I think I've just poo'ed picking mine up, didnt realise it was so bloody heavy..

Both my rigs are quite heavy but as well as having heavy cases, I also have a lot of HDDs in both.....

Once the watercooling kit arrives this week though, my main rig is going to put on weight faster then pavaroti in a pasta bar.

Mine's heavy too.

Using a casetek 1018 chassis which weighs 15.89 kg on it's own.

Now add to that PSU, HDD's galore and you've got the general jist of it

Mine isn't light but I don't have a bloody great cast iron case, so it's mostly the PSU (solid great thing.. Antec SmartPower 500w) and the two HDDs I guess. I don't care how heavy it is, I don't move it often, and besides it's a sign of quality

i'm putting off moving my HTPC, its pretty heavy. The case is 17KG by itself

It only has one HD and a DVD-R internally, but there are 4 drives in aluminium cooler/silencer cases.

I'd hate to think how much it all weighs.

Hmm - must buy some lead weights to put in the bottom of my system - an easy way to improve the quality!

They actually used to do that to appliances and other electronics.

The old Spectrums had a steel panel in the bottom, this was to make them feel more expensive and not like toys.

[GSV]Trig - have you tried taking some RAM out or the floppy drive to see if that makes a difference

Even my Eclipse (Aluminium) is a bit on the heavy with minimal components inside. The P180 (obviously) is heavier.

Some CPU heatsink+fan units are nearly a kilo.

If you want a lightweight PC, switch to a shuttle.
