Easy way to disable LEDs on fans?

What's the best and quickest way to disable the LEDs on fans? (apart from buying some more non LED ones!) I have a couple on my rig and they're so bright they look like Blackpool Illuminations at night.

    Cheers, Roo

I can think of a few ways of permenantly disabling them. Cut it's wire is what i'm thinking.

Strip it down and individually take them off by warming the joints with a soldering iron then out it back together.

Just short them, put a piece of wire conneting their two wires, the light wont go on and the circuit wont be broken.

Only short them if you know for sure theres a resistor in the circuit, otherwise something will go pop
