Wireless HomePlug adaptor

I am looking at extending the range of a wireless network to provide a wireless connection to a kids' playroom (currently beyond range of wireless router). I'm currently looking at a Solwise HomePlug Adaptor but don't know much about it. Is it any good?

I have replaced all wireless in my house (4 nodes) with 200MBs HomePlugs from Devolo - I got the dLAN 200 AVdesk - mainly because the dLAN 200 units were not avilable - I was an 'early adopter'. I went with Devolo because in all reviews I could find they produced the best performance (NetGear were surprisingly poor).

I am WELL PLEASE with them - no way would I go back to wireless, huge increase in performance and reliability. However you may find to 85MBs a bit slow, but the 200's are really good.

Thanks. I'm sure that the dLan200 is a decent bit of kit but I really need a wireless point in the room as it will be used by the kids' two laptops. I could purchase 2 x dLan200 and an access point but this would be way above budget. For £75.17 I can get a Solwise 85Mbps HomePlug adaptor plus a wireless homeplug adaptor (see first post). Although this clearly isn't going to be great for streaming media this is just not an issue. I need it to provide an Internet connection for web surfing, etc. Broadband speed is only 512Kbps so I'm sure it can cope with the speed!

So bearing the above in mind am I making the right decision?

I was very scepitcal about homeplug until I bought a pair of Netgeat HDX101's a few months back. I'd not seen plugs with an integrated AP before, quite novel!

Your idea sounds pretty good to me.

I have 2 of the dynamode 85mbps ones from Broadbandbuyer.co.uk and am well chuffed with them.
