    Question No POST on IP-35

    Hi,
I recently received the kit for a new build, as follows:
    • Abit IP-35
    • Intel Q6600
    • Corsair HX520
    • XFX 7900GS
    • 3x WD 75000AAKS
    • Asus 1814BLT
    • Antec P182

However having just put it together I'm not getting any POST on the IP-35. The sequence is as follows
    • Plug in power and turn on - internal red light comes on
    • Turn on at front of case - fans kick in, external blue and internal green lights come on
    • About 5 seconds later the external blue and internal green lights go off
    • About 2 seconds later the external blue and internal green lights come on again
    • Everything sits in this state with no beeps or video output

Nosing around on the 'net there appear to be other people who have had similar problems but no resolution that I have seen. Does anyone here have any ideas? Many thanks in advance.

    Cheers,
    Jim.

have you done the basic trouble shooting routine ?

boot with CPU only and check for fault beeps, then add the ram and check for fault beeps, then add the video card and see if it POST's

if it wont give fault beeps CPU only then remove the mobo from the case and start the routine again out the case.

and the common one seems to be heatsink not mounted correct causing thermal shutdown within seconds.

    What RAM are you using?
    P35 doesn't support 533/DDR2 5300
Also check RAM voltage against mfr's recommended.

    MSI P55-GD80, i5 750
    abit A-S78H, Phenom 9750,

RAM? Why does no-one tell me these things?

Actually it looks like I fat-fingered the CMOS reset, after trying that again I now get to the BIOS. Thanks for all the suggestions.

    Cheers,
    Jim.
