There is no doubt they are decent but that is all thats recommended, even if its obvious its not needed or required.
There are other makes just as good and as good/better value. Jump off the bandwagon for 5 minutes and take a look.

So, come on, join the 'Bandwagon' or are you going to bury your head in the sand looking for a better PSU? You won't find one! lol

Reliability is good yes. - But no more than any other top brand name.
Quietness is good to average. - I compared it to my Liberty and it was no louder/quieter.
Build Quality is also good to average. - The connector on the modular cables arent great. Infact, ALOT worse than the Hipers (best ive seen, even thought he PSUs are poo).
I have a 520 Corsair in my daughters PC (got it for £43 off Ebay and its decent...especially for that price.
To say 'Nothing is as good' is well........rubbish tbph!

Umm the corsair's are made by Seasonic, seem to remember that the HX's are basically Seasonic M12's but sold at a cheaper price.
I'll agree with you that even the 520w version is more than needed on many peoples PCs, however in the 500w modular psu range you are hard pressed to find such a good psu for such a price.
I'd be intrested to hear what you think (and others as it's never a great idea to work off one opinion) of the enermax connectors vs corsair connectors.
esp considering that the enermax 500w psu is only £5 more on scan.

They dont seem to fashionable but I will stick with Tagan they have never let me down.

Its also a very good unit, i grant you that aswell.

I am not here to have arguments, just only giving my opinion. Every forum i go on everyone puts Corsair at the top of the list, fact. Time and time again it gets the vote when someone asks for a PSU recommendation.
My Qtec comment was a 'joke' but i guess you could not see that!!

Yep...its a nice monitor (very cheap on AMazon and next day free delivery aswell...They are £109.00 IIRC).
They are also advertised as 8ms....they are really 5ms
If you get one, make sure you get the DVI cable aswell as its DVI connected.
BTW...Last thing about the PSUs
The Corsair is probably the most popular out there at the moment, i agree, but that doesnt mean its the best.
Look at it like this. I would imagine something like a Ford Focus is one of the most popular cars in the UK, agree? But its nowhere near the best car available is it?
For the money, i agree, the Corsair is very good. (I'd still rather spend the extra £20 odd and take a 620W Inifiniti).

With power supplies you can't say in most cases(Enermax & Antec excluded) that Corsair or OCZ or Silverstone as examples are great brands. This is because they don't manufacture the units themselves. The units may be speced out by them, but are made by 3rd parties such as etasis, topower etc.,. Thermaltake are an example of what i mean, when they entered the psu sector, they chose a bad unit that gave the themaltake name a bad reputation, with psu's. The next generation of their psu are the current Toughpower range made by Channel Well is an excellent unit .
So unless you buy from a company that manufactures it's own units, you aren't looking at an engineering marvel from corsair or whoever, rather that the buyer had a good day & signed up the reight contract. There is no guarantee that it will be repeated with the next unit.
Corsair PSU's are very good, but to claim nothing is better cannot be valid. Even if they did have the best PSU in the world (neasured by what criteria?) someone else will produce a better one tomorrow.
I personally (currently) always buy Seasonic for systems I build for myself and others. They are vastly experienced and are actually designers and manufacturers of their own and others Brand PSUs, plus a vast range of OEMs. As it happens Seasonic currently manufacture Corsair PSUs. IMHO Seasonic top of range PSUs are better it terms of component and design quality than Corsair PSUs....... whether the difference is worth paying extra for is another debate - but for me it is.
There are several top quality PSU manufacturers/brands and you can safely use any of them in a quality PC build. All brands will have some failures - nothing is perfect.
Try to make each and every day the best it can be.
Fyi Seasonic make Corsair PSUs.As it happens Seasonic currently manufacture Corsair PSUs. IMHO Seasonic top of range PSUs are better it terms of component and design quality than Corsair PSUs
