Logging on to Win XP: You have 1 message.

I am doing some trial and error etc. with my PC's bios, trying to solve a problem.

Anyway, as I was just rebooting the last time, I get to my log in screen for Windows XP, where I click on my Administrator logo, and then type in my password and it logs on etc.. But this time, it said Administrator, and then under it, it said, "You have 1 message".

Whats that about? (I haven't seen any messages).

i think theres a fix with microsoft powertoys tweakUI for that bug. its well documented across the internet from xp's early days.

edit* yup just checked and its under the repair section when you click the dropdown. so you need powertoys from microsoft, jsut google it for the latest version.

Thanks mate, never heard of that powertoys, I'll look into it.

I just rebooted again, and this time I tried clicking the mail part of the message and it said I had mail from blueyonder.co.uk

I got blueyonder (virgin) broadband a few months ago, but never bothered using the email. I just logged in to it now to see if there was indeed a message there, but there wasn't. Strange stuff
