    v1000b water cooling log... pics!

Ok, 1st off, i posted this in the lian li section, so if i'm breaking rules by double posting, please forgive my ignorance, i didn't know where to post this, and now i've found this sub forum, i realise i should have posted it here... anyways, here it is:

OK, so i decided that my pc was too noisy, too hot, and looked a bit naff, so, i went out and bought myself the gorgeous Lian Li v1000B, and as with all lian li's, the build quality is stunning! not to mention it's looks.

    Current specs are:

    680i
    4x1gig ballistix
    q6600
    88gtx
    1 hdd
    1 optical
    hx 620

So, after a bit of researching, i also purchased the following:

    D-tec fuzion
DDC 18w w/ petra tech delrin top
    EK 88gtx full cover clock
    dd 680i block
    PA 120.2
    4 sharkoon SE 1000's 120mm
    EK multioption res 150
    10' Tygon 1/2"
a whole bunch of wormdrive clips.
    thermalright SR-05 sli w/ sharkoon se 1000 80mm
    dd filport

    And this is what happened:

All the parts arrived, and it appears i got sent the wrong gtx block, but hey, this one's the more expensive version, i may as well use it

I had already added my old parts, and this is what it looked like before removal:

And i had also already gone to the liberty of sawing some holes in the top of the case for the rad and fillport (fillport added)

removed the heatpipe assembly from the motherboard, woah thats alot of paste!

    added the blocks:

Now this is where my planning should have been better... the board is mounted upsidown in this lian li, and thus the hr-05 would not fit... so i had to make do with some really bad old heatsink held on with cable ties untill i found something more appropriate.

good bye to the gtx's heatsink:

    hello to the Danger den!

and with this all inplace in the case:

So here it is with all the tubing added and filled up with some clear uv reactive feser1

i wasnt really happy with the plainness of the feser1, and i wanted to show it off a bit, so, when i found a heatsink that i could use to replace that little pink thing with (which turns out to be the HR-05 NON sli... ) i got some blue UV reactive feser1, some cold cathodes, and some perspex!

Here's what happened to my sidepanel after it got attacked by me brandishing a jigsaw, a file, and some sandpaper (and a bit of glue)

And a close up to show off the quality (yes im showing off, but im proud of my handy work..)

and with everything fitted, this is what it looks like:

and the classic no lights shot:

    and finally, the full setup:

I do have to apologise for the quality of the photos, my digi cam isn't that great

    Dremmel? pfft, jigsaw \o/

The thought behind doing the window:

I could have bought one, but would cost me somewhere in the region of £50inc... so, why n ot try and do a window myself? whats the worst that can happen? it goes horribly wrong and i end up buying the windowed side panel for £50 like i originally was Turns out that the mod came out pretty good, and saved myself £45 in the process (fiver for some perspex..)

Everyone's happy! (except maybe lian-li, as i didn't purchase another case window )

    dude, nice job. Looks great.

Also have a v1000 and thinking of watercooling it. any chance you could post / pm any more pics you have, especially post fitment with the door off. ALso maybe some larger pics would be good so I can see how you fitted everything together.

What temps are you getting with it ? I thought I'd need at least a 360 for cooling my system which generates less heat than yours.

    Allergic to beer, that's how

Oh, and i was drink woody whilst doing the build, just remember to keep the can a long way away, my mate managed to actually drop a can into his pc once luckily for him, it was empty, and thus practically weightless too, as it could have done rather a bit of dammage.

it is rather toasty actually. Just replaced the gtx with an ultra. The GFX idles at 45°c and loads at 58°c, the cpu at 3.6ghz (1.425v) idles at 40°c and loads (prime small ftt's on all 4 cores) at 64°c Well within it's limits, but, for what is classed as a high end water cooling build, that's rather hot, gonna lap my cpu soon to see if that helps.

Next build i'll do will be either in a v2000b, with a tripple and dual rad mounted in the bottom, or an a mm UFO
