    Re: Lightscribe

ive seen that but how does it integrate with nero as thats what i use?

The drive originally came with nero 6 which had the lightscribe software built in, but it doesnt work with my copy of vista.

I have gopy of nero 7 version 7.0.0.0 which works but that has no lightscribe built in? so do i just install the driver you suggested after installing nero or before?

    Re: Lightscribe

If you only have 7.0.0.0 installed, you really want to update it to the latest. the first bunch of released were horribly unstable, bloated and buggy.

I'm sure they aded lightscribe support back in, but i don't know which version it was.

    Re: Lightscribe

Check on that lightscribe site. Theres all sorts of other free software downloads.. you might find what you're looking for.

I've also seen something that suggested that you need to force windows xp compatabilty to the driver I linked to before. That might work.

I havn't installed vista on my pc, so I had to deal with this yet

Cheers i'll have to have a play.

I decided to take the plunge with vista as i was upgrading the whole pc cause it was all out of date and 64bit sounded to be no more problematical than 32bit vista

    Re: Lightscribe

lol i thought that when i did a build for someone a few weeks back. Wireless drivers are a nightmare!

Had to give him a spare card I had lying round in the end.

But 64bit does seem to work very nicely.

    Re: Lightscribe

It is, the only thing is i tested 32 bit for a while and 64 bit seems to be a bit more memory hungry. Although that might be to do with the fact that only some of my processor is being used at the minute need to find out how to turn that off in the BIOS.

Not necesarily. You will be able to update 7.0.0.0 to a newer build for free. I don't know when they cut it off and force you to get a newer license. I think you can check it by entering your serial number here: http://www.nero.com//eng/Upgrade_InfoPage.php

    Re: Lightscribe

Have you tried upgrading Nero from within the program itself?

6.5 and later would go and check for the latest version you could install without an upgrade.

This is not a recommendation for this specific one, but Nero is available pretty cheaply through ebay...
