    NX8600GT

    Hi,

    I have an NX8600GT [T2D256EZ] Graphics Card.

I am currently experiencing some frequest system freezes, and upon reading the back of the box, it said it requres a supplementary 6pin power connector. I have the power connector, but cannot see a place to plug it in.

    Can anyone help me ?

    Re: NX8600GT

Mine doesn't appear to have one either, but on the back of it's box, under minimal requirements, it states that it needs the 6-Pin Power Connector...

    Me = Confused.

    Re: NX8600GT

It might be because the version you have can get enough power from the PCI-Express slots but the box is generic for 8600 series cards and other versions have one. Having said that the version I see on the MSI website does have the connector.

It would be on the back of the PCB (far end of the card), can you see any traces where you'd expect one to be? (http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?f...&prod_no=1197#, image on the left has 6 pin, right is 4 pin molex)

No, I cannot see any traces of one. There just isn't one on the card at all.

    Re: NX8600GT

Is the rest of the system new? (i.e. did the freezing start when you installed the graphics card?)

If it is overclocked try underclocking it to the reference speeds. What is your PSU? Does your motherboard have an aux connector (usually a 4 pin molex) near the PCI-Express slots? Tried plugging it in?

    Re: NX8600GT

    Yes, Its all new.

Its been freezing since the first power up.

    I dont think it's overclocked.

    PSU: Atrix 650W

There is a 4pin connector near the CPU and, yes it is plugged in.
