    Leaked benchmarks on K10

    Leaked benchmarks on K10

    http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=41970

However it seems that the author, conveniently or not, has lost all the evidence so we will have to wait for some more leaks to give actual proof (although its from the inquirer so even if they did have "evidence", it would prove nothing ), but to wet your appetite

    Re: Leaked benchmarks on K10

Shouldn't that actually be 'leaked benchmarks on two overclocked HD2900XT cards'? They're what's determining 3dmark performance afterall.

AMD has always had steller memory bandwidth figures and Intel just proved that with intelligent prefetching you don't need it.

WTF, how is 3DMark in *any* way an indication of CPU performance?

This article really does not say much about the K10s.

    Re: Leaked benchmarks on K10

Although the article is dubious to say the least, I hope there's some degree of truth in it. It would be nice if AMD got back on a par with Intel - healthy competition is good (after all, we've got AMD's A64 technology to thank for Intel finally getting their finger out and ditching their P4 range).

I agree with that.. I'd like AMD to get back in the game because lord only knows what intel will do with no competition.

I'm fairly certain the raw numbers are accurate, but the opinions and speculations of the article's author are presented with quite a spin.

The article makes no mention of what an intel chip in a similar cofiguration would score (it would probably do the same), nor does it mention that the first K10s will be released at or near 1.9GHz, and that getting one to 3GHz without spending as much on your cooling as on your computer probably won't happen for 6+ months after release.

Fair comment. I was really referring to the fact that the Inquirer doesn't have a particularly good reputation for accuracy when it comes to reporting these "scoops".

    Re: Leaked benchmarks on K10

AFAIK first batch will be B0 and later this year or even in the beginning of 2008 K10 will move to B1. I don't know how plans changed within last 2 months, but latest reports show that initial K10 batch will have higher clocks - about 2.2GHz. 10% improvement one month later since global marketing presentation is a good sing
