How Best to Burn-In a New CPU Cooler?

I've been running a new built system with Arctic Cooling MX-1 Thermal Paste and the Thermalright Ultra-90, now because of unseen circumstances as posted in another thread, I've not been able to run the system in the first 3 days or so for any long periods (1hr+) for safety concerns.

However, having had the help of several of our community members, I now have some comfort in the system build (touch wood). So only having had the opportunity yesterday to run Memtest for 5hrs+ and Prime95 for just over an hour; today have only run Orthos for an hour.

What is the best way to burn-in/break-in the new system, especially the CPU Cooler/Heatsink thermal paste? So that the temp drops after the break-in period are as big as possible.

I would agree that you should run tests to confirm system stability but I'm not convinced that a burn-in will make a huge difference to thermal paste conductivity - at least not enough to make a noticeable difference in temperatures. Or am I completely wrong?

I copied this from the arctic silver website. its about the break in period for Arctic Silver 5 but you should see something similar:

Break-In Period
Due to the unique shape and sizes of the particles in Arctic Silver 5 conductive matrix, it will take a up to 200 hours and several thermal cycles to achieve maximum particle to particle thermal conduction and for the heatsink to CPU interface to reach maximum conductivity. (This period will be longer in a system without a fan on the heatsink or with a low speed fan on the heatsink.) On systems measuring actual internal core temperatures via the CPU's internal diode, the measured temperature will often drop 2C to 5C over this "break-in" period. This break-in will occur during the normal use of the computer as long as the computer is turned off from time to time and the interface is allowed to cool to room temperature. Once the break-in is complete, the computer can be left on if desired
