    Anyone got an Akasa Mirage-62?

    Hi,

I'm just wondering is anyone has got an Akasa Mirage-62 and is able to take a couple of pics of the front with door closed and door open so I can get a better idea what the case looks like rather than from the angled shots that are foating about on the net.

    Hi Matt,

Thanks, I was going to order one tonight as having to send my second Eclipse-62 back to Scan due to the right hand side panel not wanting to come off without excessive force and one of the rivets in the mobo tray not riveted in propperly. The case is just about all that is holding me up now building my system, but I will hold off a few days to see some better pics.

I know the X-FI I/O front panel won't fit behind the door but thought about maybe installing it sat back a little or just not bothering with it as I never really used it in my old system anyway.

I'm limited to which case I can get now as I bought the side panel with the fan too for use on the Eclipse, so it was either swap for the Eclipse again (would be the third one I have been sent) or refund and buy the Mirage.

I also have the window panel that was in use briefly on my current system build in an Eclipse-62 but decided to take it off and put the normal side back on.

    Hi,

The only review I had seen was in CustomPC, have searched for ages on the net looking for other reviews but couldn't find any.

I know internally it is identical to the Eclipse, the only difference is the front, I'd also like to know if Akasa have removed one of the HDD lights. Looking at the angled front shot of the case it now looks to only have 2 LED's and rather large round power button and a smaller round reset button.

Am so tempted to just order it now, I have just received the the other parts I need to build my new system (well at least so I can flash the BIOS to support my 7950GX2), will then just be waiting on my Core 2 Extreme coming to finalise my system.

I have a distinct lack of desk space with all the boxes sat on my desk waiting to be put together in their new home.

Caved in and ordered the case, my PC build has been dragged out far too long now...

I'll post pics if Matt's not done so by the time my case arrives.

    Hi,

New Mirage-62 has just arrived, first impressions I live the new front better than the old Eclipse-62.

I'm just going to clear up some space and will take a few pics.

Here's some pics of the case, enjoy:

The front of the case it about 1/2 inch deeper than that on the Eclipse-62 to accomodate the door which it held closed by 3 magnetic squares and has a small indent to the right of the case side near the I/O Ports for opening.

The open door picture shows the door at the maximum it will open, the internal back of the door has a full lengh internal vented plastic back which could possably be modified to allow the installation of for example the X-FI I/O Panel and would allow the volume and mic dials to sit inside the door when closed.

It's a shame the I/O ports were not mounted in one of the 3 1/2" bays and could be removed if not needed and a spare blanking plate installed.

    Thanks for the pics.

I thought they'd just slapped a door on the front of the Eclipse but they've changed the front as well.

More importantly no chance of sticking one of those doors over an Eclipse

... and if its the same on the mirage then they could be interchangable - authough its anlikely you would be able to buy just the fronts.
