    Processor:Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 (2.4GHz 1066MHz) Socket 775 L2 8MB Cache

    Hard Drive:Seagate ST3320620AS 320GB Hard Drive SATAII 7200RPM 16MB Cache - OEM

    Drive:Samsung SH-S183 SATA 18x DVD±RW/RAM Black - Bare Drive OEM

Case: Coolermaster Elite 330 Black Mid Tower Case - No PSU

Graphics card: EVGA 8800GTS SuperClocked 320MB DDR3 DVI PCI-E Graphics Card

Re: Wanna build my first rig looking 4 advice nd suggestions

    Are you planning to overclock?

The abit ip-35 is a better motherboard than the 650i

    I'd get a corsair 520w HX PSU

and a better case. Antec p182 or 900

Unless you ever expect to use SLI (& that only is useful at very high res on very large monitors) I would get a P35 chipset board instead as already recommended.
If you really do want the SLI then imo get the Gigabyte 650i DS4 over the Asus.
650i isn't a great chipset for overclocking quads though.

DVD - SH203 is a far better drive, but no Lightscribe. If you want that get the ASUS SATA 1814.

Graphics - always buy on Scan Today Only!

Re: Wanna build my first rig looking 4 advice nd suggestions

Skimp on the PSU and risk burning out your quad core and 8800GTS..

Something like an ocz 600w stealth/gameXstream would probably do the job. They can be found for less money.

The corsair VX450w may just about do it.

Re: Wanna build my first rig looking 4 advice nd suggestions

A number of problems have been reported with Gigabyte boards. Abit or ASUS FTW.

As for Lightscribe, unless you want the pretty CDs I wouldn't bother - it makes copying a lot longer.
