just wanted to know what is the best thermal compound i can use, at the moment i am using the stuff supplied with my heat seat, (silverstone nt06) and basically i think it could be the compound that is the cause of the high temps.
it just feels a bit "crap".
i have some artic silver ceramic which i have used on the gpu and that seems to be doing well . i know artic silver as5 is good, but i think there has got to be something better now surely?
any help will be appreciated

AS5 and AS Ceramic are still the two best thermal compounds on the market.

Another vote for AS5.... I've seen praise for the MX-1 as well and the AS ceramique along with some other more exotic ones, but personally AS5 has always done best for me.

I have as5, ceramique and ocz ultra 5+ and the as5 seems the best for me.
I've used MX-1 & AS5 on my cpu and personally I've found MX-1 cools much better about 3-5oC. It does take about a week or so to set in though as the temps were initially higher than the AS5 when I first changed over.

AS5 is the way to go, non of the others i tried have shown results
Not much in it really, I use AS5 and ceramique generally.

I've noticed this also, the MX-1 does have high temps to start with but with start/stop cycles, there seems to be a considerable drop of about 3-5 degrees.
ah so mx1 is good but takes a week or so to get good, as5 seems to be quite popular. i need the best i can get , so maybe mx1 is for me. i think i shall change to ceramic and see if thats anybetter, before i buy mx1

AS5 takes some time to set properly as well.
I've got MX1 on both my computers and i thinks it's great but as others have said it takes time to get to its optimum!
I've been using MX-1 for a while now, seems to do the job really well.

4-5 degree drop from AS5
I use AS5. Heard good reviews on it and stuck with it since my first build.
