120mm fans

I'm putting together my new computer i'm going to buy late sept on paper. so far...

Lian Li PC101,
Seasonic M12
2x Seagate 250gig 7200.8's - Need some advice on decent silent enclosures or best way to mount these in a 101 in Raid0 (boot drive) - Current system going to get a fancy raid card and form a fileserver stored in basement, which is why these will be the only drives in my system.

That's all I've done so far!

Next on my list is 2 or 3 12" fans. Money no object on these which are the best and most silent.

Im looking at some Noctua ones atm? thoughts

I've heard good things about Noctua, but I've not tried them. Nexus fans a fairly well established and I don't think you can go wrong with them.

Cheap, powerfull but very silent.

I remember reading somewhere that Yate Loon's are exactly the same fans as Nexus, Except without the resistor so slightly faster. - I'll go do some reading. cheers

Yea i think it is Nexus.

But its Nexus are Yate Loons. Not Yate Loons are Nexus fans if you get my drift.

Basically, yea. I was going to suggest Loons too, but if 'most silent' is wanted, and price not an issue, then the Nexus's lower speed may be more desirable. Sure you can always run the Loons at lower voltage, but the same can be said about the Nexus.

I use these tri-cool 12cm fans on my water cooling . Choose your speed and noise.

Reading on silentpcreview.com a few people had issues with Noctua fans. Noctua did replace them quickly though so good customer service.

I've tried the following fans and the quietest was the NorthQ Nano Ceramic Bearing fan (Black) from Scan

Yate Loon D12SL 120mm
Yate Loon D12SM Blue LED (clear fan) 120mm
NorthQ NCB 120mm
SilenX 14dba 120mm
Globe 120mm
Enermax 120mm (not the latest one)

I've gone for quiet fans ever since I had a computer case with 6 80mm fans. The above fans were recommended as being so I tried them.
