    Overclocking- Voltages

    hello,

When I overclock a CPU, I have the option in my Abit IP-35 pro BIOS to set the voltages at 'auto.' What does this mean? Will the CPU just automatically pull as much juice as it needs? Would this result in the best possible stability?

    Thanks!

    Re: Overclocking- Voltages

it will probably overvolt to keep things "utterly stable" I dont like the idea of my BIOS making decisions, so I adjust everything manually.

From hazy experiences, the BIOS jacks the voltage up fairly fast if left on auto...
    Using:
    Crucial Ballistix RAM
    Xigmatek air & power.

I find it best to do it on auto first (especially if you are learning), keeping an eye on the temps, then once stable, go back and reduce the voltage and test after each adjustment.
