    Headset recommendation

Title says it all really, I have got the latest TrackIR4 bits and the Saitek Impact headset that was recommended (by the supplier) somehow got left out. So I am in the market for a good, comfortable headset for use with my flight sims and possibly some VOIP.

I have reasonable 2.1 speakers (good for PC - modest for HiFi), but might occasionally have music via the headset to keep the noise down.

Recommendations please - comfort is paramount (I get headaches from too much pressure).
Try to make each and every day the best it can be.

Icemat Siberia's are very comfortable and pretty reasonable on Scan.

had the same problem with Headset giving to much pressure after a couple of hours gaming. I invested in the Medusa Speedlinks and found them very very comfortable.

    Must be different shaped ears

The Sennheisers by reputation are excellent.

    Re: Headset recommendation

I've got a pair of Medusa 5.1's too - I love the things - definitely ear/head shape must come into it.

I'm currently thinking about going for another USB headset as my Logitech one won't work with Vista. Bah.

    Re: Headset recommendation

^Could be! I've got a fairly large head (physically) though and they feel comfortable to me. I've got a pair of JVC ones and they make my head ache like a swine if I wear them for too long but not the Medusas, I've been using the latter for a few years too.. (shrugs!)

I recently got my self a Speed-Link Thalia Headset from Scan. http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=498833
I've been most impressed with it, it was only £8, it's very comfy, they don't press on my head and are designed to cup your ears so they don't press them into my glasses like my old ones did.
Although they are a little large for my narrow head, but this was fixed by shortening the leather rest and bending the wire fram slightly.

    Re: Headset recommendation

I've got a fairly large head, the Medusa's are fantastic, so so comfy, really well padded, the surround sound works great, the mic does the job nicely and they have pretty decent bass, easily the best I've used for gaming.

I had been planning on spending £30-£50 but these look interesting - a cheap way to see how I get on with them..... I also have had good recommendations from the Flight Sim community for Saitek Impact at only £10 which also are dual headband like these. I can always go upmarket if I find I really use them.

I've had a pair of Sennheiser PC150's for about 3 years and still going strong They sound great and I find them very comfortable, that sometimes I forget I'm wearing them after coming out of a game. There are PC151's out now, but I dunno what the difference is.

    Re: Headset recommendation

I use the zalman 5.1 headset.

Better by quite a way than medusas for me, and also they dont need power, they are not as heavy as medusas. and are cheaper, and have a great surround sound effect
