I have a Samsung SATA HDD of 160 GB. Initially it showed me the correct capacity but I had a power fluctuation a couple of times and after which it has showed only 131 GB. Is the SMPS at fault or do I have to buy a new HDD.

Sounds like you have installed using a windows disc that didnt have SP1 on it.
Try running chkdsk (/r) to see if you have any bad sectors: http://www.microsoft.com/resources/d...us/chkdsk.mspx
I'd have thought your OS might notice if your hard drive was borked.
Thats not the problem.
Clunk is right in saying that he needs to update windows or download a small bit of software to enable windows to see the entire drive.
Download this, install and you'll be set.

I would suggest installing the latest service pack though.
