    Speaker Recommendations

I'm looking for a reasonable set of 2.1 speakers. Mainly for music use along with TV shows such as 24 / Prison Break when they're on

Any recommendations or reviews anyone can point me to?

Whats your budget? I got a set of these from scan last week on a super saver for £23.50.

    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...roductID=78573

email themanwhocan@scan.co.uk to see if you can get them on again as they are very nice to my ears and I can be quite fussy. Lots of bass clarity if you like a lot of bass and not at all tinny.

    Re: Speaker Recommendations

I got the Acoustic Energy AEGO-M 2.1 speaker system the other week after finally agreeing to rotate my old beloved Cambridge Soundworks 5.1 speaker setup to another part of the house.

I just started laughing when the little Aego's warmed up. For relatively tiny speakers, the sheer weight, clarity, soundstaging, timbre - etc, etc, etc ...not to mention VOLUME, is quite amusing/amazing/impressive. Depending on where you live, you could do serious damage to neighbour relations with them.

Not as sweet sounding as my old Cambrdge Soundworks but more than compensate in other areas. All very pleasant to the ear and I recommend them.

Godsdog how do you connect these to your pc do they come with all the relavent cable as Ive got an x-fi Xtreme music and Im pondering how they connect as the speakers look to have an rca jack on them.

    Thanks in advance.

    Re: Speaker Recommendations

I fancy the Acoustic Energy Aego-M cos they look amazing! But was looking for something a bit cheaper as I've just bought my own place and have no money!

Something around the £40/50 mark, I was going to get the Logitech Z4 as these were reduced from £70 to £40 in Comet but the sale has now ended

Obviously if someone can find me the Aego's for around £60 I might be able to push the budget a bit...

    Re: Speaker Recommendations

The cheapest i've seen the Aego's for is £78 at overclockers but you will have shipping on top of that. There are high street HiFi retail outlets selling them though and you could possibly pick them up locally for a reasonable price.

There have been some threads recently on 2.1's:
    http://forums.hexus.net/showthread.p...t=2.1+speakers
    http://forums.hexus.net/showthread.p...t=2.1+speakers
    http://forums.hexus.net/showthread.p...t=2.1+speakers

Plenty of recommendations there. There are probably more in the search, but those were plucked off the first page.

I was just going to post, the gigaworks T40's look really nice and opening a few eyes, I probably would have gone for them but I had the spare green kicking about, sooo..

How are the T20's meant to perform in terms of bass? I know they claim to be fantastic for bass but would they compare with, for example, the Logitech Z4 that has an 8" sub?
