    Unhappy E6750 temps again - I'm confused

Sorry to go on about my E6750 temps again - reseated HSF for third time in attempt to get coretemp 0.95.4 to give me idle temps of 25C, which is what I read on these forums that I should get. Now starting to not trust coretemp, despite all I read on hexus about it being most reliable. TAT and SpeedFan both agree (almost) at about 25-28C but core temp shows 41C. HSF is Arctic Cooling Freeper Pro 7, TIM is AS5. I've not touched any config on any of the tools. Coretemp also shows TJunction of 100C. Is that correct for a C2D?

Another thing that makes me not trust coretemp is that my cpu fan doesn't spin at full tilt. I can turn it right down (cpu under load) and temps don't climb. Under Orthos Small FFTs speedfan/TAT show 55/57C but CoreTemp shows 72C. If cpu was really at 72 wouldn't fan spin up to full speed?

I don't know what to believe. I'm tempted to leave it as it is since I run Orthos, Bioshock etc without any issues. But I wouldn't mind a go at OCing so I'd like to trust my tools before I start!

    Cheers,
    Dave

    Ello Daaaaaaaaaaave

I would be inclined to believe coretemp normally, but your temps do seem oddly high.

I have seen where the sensor on the chip reports vastly different temps to other systems. I had an E6600 that did it, and none of the software was reading it as even close to eachother. Was aweird one.

As long as youre happy that the heatsink is definitely on properly, I wouldnt worry.
