    E4300 or E4400 ????

I am building a couple of machines for a friend – I have already built him a couple a few months back using E4300’s which are gently overclocked from 1.8GHz to 2.4GHz by simply raising the FSB from 200 to 266 and he is very please with them.

However I see the E4400 is only £1 more than the E4300 and with a multiplier of 10 that means that the same simple overclock of raising the frequency from 200 to 266 will yield a 2.6GHz system.

As E4400 seem to go to 3.0 or even 3.2, can any E4400 owner confirm they generally OC well, or are there issues? I know an E4300 will (should) go well, and suspect that I will get a better solution for only a quid more, with an E4400.
Try to make each and every day the best it can be.

I don't have an E4400, but there is no reason not to get the 4400 over the 4300 for such a small difference in price. Both tend to max out around the same speed, but the E4400 needs less FSB to get there.

That was my thinking, I just hoped someone out there had one and could confirm..... I figure the higher multiplyer has got to be a 'good thing'.

    Re: E4300 or E4400 ????

Definitely, you will have no problems with the E4400. It really is just more speed for no money

The 4300 is being phased out at retail and the E4500 (2.2GHz) is coming in.

Buy the E4400 and enjoy the extra speed
