4gb or Q6600 go?
I've just come into some money, now I'm going to take a bit and bank the rest. Would either be worth it?
Current system:
E6300@2.8
8800GTX
2gb ram
Gigabyte DS3
2*320gb
250gb
Xfi fatality pro.

Go on a nice holiday, I say :)
I've had one, to france for 2 weeks :)
I've just graduated and am looking for work. I'm just banking the money anyway :)
I don't want to spend much of it so I'll probably treat myself to the RAM or CPU and bank the rest to put towards a car.
Well, I say go for the Q6600, if I had to make the choice. You've prob got enough RAM anyway, especially if you're using XP.
Using vista 64. The thing is will I notice? If it makes a difference in Crysis then awesome :)
Tbh I don't think you'll notice anything in games with either upgrade.Quote:

Yeah probably won't notice it but I'd have the quad personally.
Won't Crysis/WiC/UT3 make use of the QC?
depending what your current ram is, quad core is my chooise ;)
No point putting in another 2gb of expensive tight timeing ram if your old stuff is holding it back.
You may even be able to get both :)
Sell your E6300 and by both:)
I'll be selling the E6300 to recover some of the cost of the Q6600.
Yea either don't spend it, or go with the G0 Q6600 :) (after selling your e6300!)
What should I be good for with an Arctic Freezer 7 Pro?
The Arctic Colling Freezer 7 Pro would be ok at stock, it keeps my pentium D (which is still slightly hotter than the q6600 at stock) below 50c a few hours gameing, with the fan at max and the cpu on a near constant 90% load
But the q6600 will start getting toasty if you Overclock.
