    Memory timings

I've got a variety of options in the Shuttle's BIOS for memory timings, so what should I set them to for best performance with my Corsair XMS3200? The following options are available...

    Max memclock (MHz)
    CAS# latency
    RAS# to CAS# delay (tRCD)
    Min RAS# active time (tRAS)
    Row percentage time (tRP)

I know nothing about any of them but I do know the ram is CL2

    Help!

not sure of the benefits but if its v2.2 \xms the fastest you can probably set the trcd to is 3 so would give you something like 2,2,3,6 as fast settings.

I think the PC3200 Corsair is rated to 2-3-2-6 (check on their website?). Try tightening the timings to 2-2-2-5 and enable 1T command control (if you have that option). These are the fastest timings, but you may need to give the RAM a tiny bit more voltage!

    CAS# latency = 2
    RAS# to CAS# delay (tRCD) =3
Min RAS# active time (tRAS) =5 or 6
    Row percentage time (tRP) =2

Running 2x512 sticks of XMS3200 myself and they'll do most timings at 200fsb without extra voltage, it's just the tRCD that I have to keep at 3 - like the setup btw

You can find out what the stock setting should be here :

I know i'm running my 2x256mb XMS3200 at 2-3-3-6 1T but it seems to differ according to what size the dimm is.

Yup it's 2-3-3-6 for mine also. So that's [cas]-[ras-cas]-[percentage]-[min ras]?

    I've got mine set to:

    CAS Time Delay = 2.0
    RAS-to-CAS Delay = 3
    Row-Precharge Delay = 3
    Row-Active Delay = 6

    That on an NF7-S

I've also got 2,3,3,6 but it won't do 2,2,2,x. I was thinking of putting some more volts up this Corsair XMS to see if that would help but would I really notice much performance increase? I'm hoping to get 2,2,2,(6 or 11)
