    Question which wireless adaptor

    Hi,
I am going to build a computer with the following specs,
    Antec he430
    8800gts
    antec nine hundred
    hitach 320gb
    e4300
OCZ special ops pc6400 2gb ram
Asus p5k (not wifi or deluxe)

I currently own a Linksys wireless-g access point 802.11g and model WAP54G i need a compatible wireless usb adapter capable of maintaining good speeds for gaming and downloading. It also needs to be able to connect from a fair distance ( router downstairs computer upstairs). It would be preferred if i could buy it from scan.
    Any help is much appreciated

    Re: which wireless adaptor

router downstairs, computer upstairs is quite a small distance in wi-fi terms, actually

The rule with buying wireless products for speed tends to be to buy the same make of card as the router. Sadly it seems that scan does not currently stock any linksys/cisco wireless cards.

Unless you are engaging in lan gaming, however, the speed of the connection between your computer and the server will be limited not by that between your computer and the router, but by your internet connection itself.

    Re: which wireless adaptor

    hello,
on scan there is a edimax wireless card for £11
    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=152539
or you could get the Asus P5K-E/WIFI-AP for £94 which is only £20 more than the standard p5k.#
