    Question OCZ XTC cooler help

    Hi,
I am going to build a computer with the following specs,
    Antec he430
    8800gts
    antec nine hundred
    hitach 320gb
    e4300
OCZ special ops pc6400 2gb ram
    OCZ XTC cooler
    Asus p5k

Simple question, i was just wondering if the memory cooler that i am going to get (mentioned above) from Mircodirect, http://www.microdirect.co.uk/Product...roductID=15865
can cool 2 gb of ram in a asus p5k because it looks like it can only cover 2 slots next to each other.
Any help will be very appreciated

    Re: OCZ XTC cooler help

The cooler itself is quite wide in reality, and don't forget, air movement is not confined to just below the fan

    Re: OCZ XTC cooler help

It's a good pieces of mobo jewellry. (shines & sparkles) as a cooler it's crap. I got one in reference to the Corsair Dominator Airflow Fan a while ago thinking 2x60mm fans would be better than 3x40mm fans, both in terms of cooling & quitness. I was wrong have since got the corsair cooler & ditched the ocz.

The corsair also easier to fit.
    Can't see the slots
    .
    Another shot

All 4 slots are covered. having modules runnning 2x1gb dual channel generally means there's an empty socket in between modules.

    luck with your build

    Re: OCZ XTC cooler help

And both will either be noisey or not perform as well as you want, my suggestion grab a 70mm delta fan strap it on with some wire and job done like so:

Lol, that can keep my ram cool to the touch at 2.4v and yes the ram is still going.

    Re: OCZ XTC cooler help

I have read that those OCZ coolers arent too clever, especially at the high price.
