    Lightbulb Optical drive

    Hi all

I'm in the process of up-grading and I need a new optical drive in black, are they all the same inside?

Also can anyone tell me if these to motherboards are the same

    Overclockers

    and...

    Scan

As i have now got my free delivery working from scan as they have the new E2180 and loads of silverstone stuff I really want to order from just one company.

Thanks for all your help MoBo

    Re: Optical drive

The optical drives aren't all the same no..but generally if they are a good brand you won't notice a difference. I'd go with the samsung sata one from scan..of all the opticals i've got thats the most quiet.

The motherboards are the same yes so get it from scan.
Both got all solid caps and should be a good board for overclocking.

Apparently the LiteOn 20x one is a good drive, you can get it with 3 different bezels to it'll match the case no matter what the colour (as long as it's black, silver or beige...)

    Re: Optical drive

Opticals aren't all the same, but some are similar, like the Pioneer using NEC chipsets, I'm more of a Pioneer fan myself so I recommend the Pioneer DVR-212

They were.... not any more.... I used to always use Plextor, now they are overpriced and no longer the best... Samsung and Pioneer for me.
Try to make each and every day the best it can be.
