    dabs q6600 g0?

    Hi there,
Does anyone know if dabs stock g0 q6600s?

I'm was looking to buy from them, since they're one of the only UK sites which are competitive for irish customers. However, I'm not prepared to take a chance on this.

Mind you, after a chat with their customer service, i'm starting to reconsider:

You have been connected to Steve .
Steve : Good morning, how may we help you?
Dave Harnett: Hi Steve. I'm trying to find out which revision of the Core 2 Quad Q6000 (quicklinx: 4DWFWS) you have in stock
Steve : Sorry but we don't have this information to provide to you
Dave Harnett: I see. Afraid i'll have to look elsewhere then. I would advise you guys to check up on this - there are dramatic differences between the different revisions of this chip, and enthusiasts will want to know. Finding out is as simple as checking the product code on the boxes.
Steve : Thank you for using this service. Goodbye.

Overclockers (sorry for the profanity) also ship to Ireland, as does Komplett (use .ie). The former treats the G0 stepping as a separate product.

lol. that reminds me of the conversation I had the other day with an Ebuyer-ette over the phone.

I wanted to know if the Samsung SH S183 advertised was the A or L version, I wanted the lightscribe version. Was told to check the Samsung site - said I'd done that - and I couldn't place a £xxx order till I knew for sure. Was told the manager would email me with the details - still waiting.

Scans gain, I'll get an alternative.

    Komplet's more cordial response:
Due to our large inventory and our warehousing procedures we cannot specify between steppings on a model. We usually have the most up to date but there is always the chance that an older model may be stored also and as such picked for delivery to a customer. Sorry I couldn't help you more with this issue.

Intel's fault really for releasing two significantly different chips under the same name. OCUK charging more for the new revision is kinda cheeky, but it's nice to know what you're paying for!

Is there any way to kill a chip and still get an rma? If so, I might take my chances with dabs or komplett >

    Re: dabs q6600 g0?

You can still RMA the chip if you don't do anything to void the warranty, since they're (OcUK) VAT registered in Ireland, they have to comply with Irish trading law.
