Two Array Volumes on one Controller?
Hope someone will know the answer to this.
I have a small RAID setup that uses Matrix RAID where I have 3 HDD's which has RAID 5 and RAID 0 running off Intel's ICH8R.
What I would like to do is have my current 3 HDD's as one RAID 5 and another 3 HDD's as another RAID 5 all running off Intel's ICH8R. The problem I have is not knowing if that can be done on one controller?
If I do need another controller I was thinking of getting a Highpoint RR2300 for the new RAID 5, I did look at XFX's Revo 64 but my current RAID 5 tops 130MB/s so it would have to be PCI-E x1 or x4.
Thanks for anyone that can help.
Re: Two Array Volumes on one Controller?
there should be no problem running running the two volumes off the ich8r. just make sure you select the right disks when you do build the array
