    Scan International

    Hello everyone

I am thinking of buying my new computer parts from Scan. Can someone please let me know what sort of postal rates do Scan use? Cheapish or expensive? And what do people on the forum think of their service please?

I have bought from Scan before, but many years ago. One item a Scan 2500 DVD Player (Sept 2002), which I still use on a daily basis, and it is still excellent?

    regards

Dead simple, make another 20 or so posts and then you can get free delivery once you jump through a few signup hoops (look for DavidM's posts, his signature has all the details).

Other than that, they're about average for a carrier based delivery.

    Re: Scan International

Well, there are 2 primary reasons that I use them:

    1) We get free delivery as hexus members (providing you're an active member with X amount of posts, but I can't remember the required amount off the top of my head).

    2) We have somewhere public to complain should things go wrong. They sent me the wrong HDD a while ago and whilst the customer services team messed me around a little (nothing major), a simple post on this forum to one of the Scan guys got it moving asap.

Scan are certainly one of the better suppliers and when adding free delivery, I don't order from anywhere else if I'm going mail order. Their delivery charges are the same as every other mail order outfit (for next day delivery) which is about £10-£15 if you don't qualify for free delivery.

But don't try to spam your way to enough posts. The requirement is actually for constructive posts. Spamming to try to get to 25 is likely to get spotted (especially after a thread like this highlights a name ) and if it gets spotted, either the spam gets deleted (thereby reducing post counts again) or the post count will get manually zeroed. And repeating the spamming attempt to get to 25 after having the count zeroed is likely to result in access to that free delivery offer being blocked permanently.

So please, proper posts not spam.

I dunno. Pictures of you in a spam costume for amusement should be OK. What do the rules say about that sort of spam?

    Re: Scan International

Well fellas, thank you very much for that information, particularly about 20 posts. Just a thought though, how will Scan know that I have made the required number of posts please?

    regards

You stick your forum UserID in your Scan profile and they take the information from that.
