Personally I go for a slightly older board which has had all the BIOS kinks worked out so you don't have to worry about reflashing every couple of weeks.

eSATA or firewire ports are one feature I'd consider essential, though, you want an easy way to add fast HD expansion.

Standard IP-35 has two firewire headers and 6 internal SATA just no eSATA.

The P35 is still pretty new anyway, still plenty of bios revisions going on.

If you think you will want to slowly upgrade this pc around your current Mobo then maybe the X38 is the way to go. But I would imagine you will want to do a big upgrade down the line, for DDR3 support etc.. by which time there will be hundreds of boards and all new chipsets.

I'd stick with the IP-35. Pro if you need eSATA
