Running prime at stock with stock cooler:

Now...it idles at 39/40 - I'm happy with these temp's but someone has just said they look pretty scary to him - so I'm taking it that he thinks they're way off.
I think they seem pretty good...but maybe I'm way off.

fixed link
it might be that the heat sink is is not sitting on the processor properly or too much voltage might be going through or just that the sensors are not properly calibrated

Re: New Q6600 G0
No what I'm saying is I think they're fine. It's running prime 95 - not idle.
Oh well nevermind.

Re: New Q6600 G0
The temps are fine, but it's a stock speeds, and it is possible to get them lower, or reach a higher clock speeds and maintain those temps.
If you don't plan to clock it any higher then I really wouldn't worry.

Re: New Q6600 G0
I've just overclocked to 2.82 and ran prime and it got to 68 on two cores/65 on two cores. I ran prime for 10 minutes.

Re: New Q6600 G0
Oh I intend to. I'll run it over night. Just aslong as those temps are ok.
