oh, better answer some q's eh

ive a passive sv25 - runs a 55w external passive psu, a 40gig cuda IV hdd and a c3 933 with 384 of pc133. all runs fine - but used to have some problems when i had a cdrom in there too. the only fan is a 92mm pabst which is 7v'd to run at about 4cfm or something silly - the box gets HOT but still runs

you could probably passivly cool a p3 in a larger box but the heatsink size is very restricted in a shuttle, and there is buggerall air movement (remember these other pcs have other fans in). i'd go with a c3 if you want coolness

    Could always use another m8

Which passive PSU did you use?

I think the C3 is the way to go for silence - the P3 does have some kind of aftermarket heatsink and fan fitted, dont know how quiet it is (Securicor haven't landed yet but its expected sometime today)

Just gonna be the PSU really I think and I'm probably gonna be looking at some sort of external brick.

This post has given me a lot of ideas - thanks everyone for all the input! I was away from Hexus forums for a while but I'm pleased I came back!!!

    Cheers everyone

it was actually aimed at glyndwr who's a mate of mine from uni lol

im not sure what psu is there - i brought the box complete - looks rather like a laptop job thou - its external with a small transformer pcb inside the shuttle. i'll try and find it (i honestly dont know where the shuttle is at the moment) and find out whats in it
