    CoolMaster Stacker 830 Case

    Hello everyone

Anyone have any information on the CM 830 case please?

At the moment I have a Lian Li PC-6085A ATX-Mid Tower, but I do not know if it will accommodate a Quad-4 CPU?

    regards

    Re: CoolMaster Stacker 830 Case

Jackvdbuk, thank you for asking but,
I hope to put in a Gainward 8800 Ultra Bliss Graphics Card, and a Intel 6850 Core2Quad processor, and with no water-cooling there will have to be a Arctic Cooling Freezer Fan which I understand is 107mm high not including the processor. Therefore the amount of space required will be substantial.

So may I ask again, has anyone any experience of using the Coolmaster Stacker 830 case please?

    regards

    Re: CoolMaster Stacker 830 Case

I have an 832 which is basically the same thing just in all black. Suffice it to say there's more than enough room for virtually everything and anything you can throw in it. There is a "door frame" set for 4 optional 120mm fans, and this may need to be removed to accommodate taller coolers (it simply snaps out harmlessly), leaving the front and rear 120mm included fans to do a perfectly fine job. Even something as pointlessly lengthy as an Ultra card, or as pointlessly tall as a Tuniq 120 cooler will look small in this case, leaving plenty of room for hands, cables, dead bodies of neighbors, what have you. Mobo tray can be removed intact some simplified access. Great case. Expensive, compared to some, but great.

And comes in a box bigger than God.

    Re: CoolMaster Stacker 830 Case

Kilmatead, thank you very much for that information.

May I ask you, running a large graphics-card and a Core4, how are your case and processor temps; also if I may, what cooling fan do you use? I only mentioned the Arctic freezer as that is mentioned at the Scan site?

    regards

Ive got a stacker too. These cases are massive and can accomodate pretty much any and all kit you can think of.

Even a U1 server case can house Prescott core Xeon CPUs, which.. needless to say, were power hungry beasts that put out a ton of heat as a result, are cooled by low profile heatsinks, in a cool environment they have no problem running. So back to the question of weather the Coolermaster Stacker 830 can keep a Q6600 at a maintainable temperature, absolutely. It should also be wide enough to house a Scythe Infinity, probably one of the bulkiest coolers on the market.

    Re: CoolMaster Stacker 830 Case

For temp considerations, I'd direct you to Clunk's Quad Core overclocking thread. Even if you're not overclocking, it contains more information than any normal human could possibly need pertaining to cooling, and this case will accommodate all.

I would say that on my GTX Ultra (Asus brand) I found the fan dumped far more heat directly into the case due to the vents on the underside of the card. Even being a "double-height" card, it's rear vent just didn't work too well for some reason, so I bought a wee dedicated Akasa exhaust fan that's specifically made to sit below graphics cards like these and redirect the flow directly out the back. Best £5 I ever spent. Case temps just sit at ambient quite happily.

And those Enermax PSU's that have the gimmick of running the system fans after the computer shuts down are just the ticket for anyone concerned about these things. They cost a bit more than a fiver, though.
