    motherboards.

    hello,
i will be building myself a new pc soon and wondered what the major differences between the abit ip35 and abit ip35pro?
    its a £40 difference.
the main differences I saw was two easta ports and an extra gigabit ethernet.
i will want to get a wireless card since sometimes the computer will be upstairs.
this will be my first build.
once i get all the cash i will post my full list of componants and then ask for any adjustments you would make before i buy all the stuff from scan.
also does 32bit software work on 64bit vista?
or does all the software have to be 64bit?

Apart from what you mentioned, other differences include:

    A second physical x16 PCI-E slot (4x electrical); the IP35 has an extra x1 PCI-E instead
    The heat sink/pipe assembley
    Right angled SATA sockets
    An external CMOS switch
2 Firewire ports (instead of 1)
A diagnostic display (on the motherboard)

I think only the pro uses uGuru and has 100% solid capacitors as well.

The BIOSes are different and more importantly the pro doesn't suffer from the 'double boot issue' - although this is *supposed* to be fixed.
