    build my own PC

I have been thinking about building my own PC but don't know where to start, I was wondering if anyone could recommend internet sites or book where I can find a step by step guide and good advise on site where to buy.

    Thanks in advance

maybe not the best way but if you gave us a budget price and the requirmeents of the computer then you would have a few people giving suggestions of which components you should be looking at. then do a little research (google is your friend) and you'll be on your way.

books aren't usually a good idea, components date very quickly so you will no doubt be given bad/wrong information.

oh and bear this in mind - if you ever get stuck, don't curse too much. we all have problems, thats wat hexus is for! =D

    good luck

what I'm looking for is all the basic i.e. all the minimum component I need and what is compatible with what, I thought that once I can understand that then I'd ask for advice on Hexus forum, I don't want to bore anyone with my lack of knowledge and ask completly stupid/basic question and waste your time. There's got to be some site with good basic advice somewhere ??

barebones is like asus terminator or even the shuttle where case/psu/mobo is all there usually with onboard sound/graphics and you have the choice of cpu/memory/hard drive.
I'll second that about ebuyer - good prices but if owt goes wrong its a nightmare. komplett have always been nice to me but postage is huge. Favourite is dabs and returns policy is very good.
