Exclamation Help with my gaming pc

Hi, i am going to build a gaming pc with the specs shown below. The total comes to £790, I have an extra £60 to spend but i can't figure out what to do with it, I do not need a sound card, i am happy with motherboard, PSU, Speakers, Cooler and Graphics card. So, If anyone has any ideas they will be welcomed.

    specs;
    Corsair 520w
    BFG 320gb 8800gts
antec nine hundred ( Maybe get a better case)
    hitach 320gb (bigger/better hard drive)
    e6550 (maybe better)
    crucial ballistix pc2 6400 ( maybe more/better RAM)
    Asus p5k-e wifi
Logitech S220 2.1 Speaker System Black 17W RMS
    Samsung SH-S203/BEBN 20x DVD±R (maybe a second?)
Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium 64Bit OEM (DVD)
    Tuniq tower 120
Shower shorts, for the man who has nothing to hide, but still wants to.

Re: Help with my gaming pc

    A faster CPU, Definetly..

Try and get a Quad QX6600 or just go for a Decent dual core E6750 or E6600

Re: Help with my gaming pc

Q6600 no question. Tuniq tower is pretty heavy but gives good results.

Scythe's range ( ninja in particular for me) are great HSF's and will be cheaper.

If you don't need fancy lights etc.. Antec P182 is lovely

Cost, ease of over clocking, heat, the amusing thing is, you will have a point against all these

Re: Help with my gaming pc

    Course I do

The G0 revision of the chip should easily overclock to 3.4GHz with the cooler you have picked.

they also run cooler so at that speed if should be high 30's early 40's idle and around mid 50 degree's under load. The E6550 won't do any better than that i'm sure.

It costs a bit more yeah but it's worth every penny if you are using or planning to use CPU intensive apps. Even if they can't use all the cores you can assign them a couple of cores to use and then use the other 2 for what ever you want.. like playing games while you encode video for example

actually that sounds quite interesting, how hard is to assign cores?

you go to task manager..right click on a process and select set affinity.

Affinity will come up as core 0 - 3. Select one and away you go
