Low CPU Fan RPM
hello,
I was trying the Quiet mode on the Abit guru software, when the PC crashed and an error screen came up. I reset the PC, but still have a very low CPU fan RPM, it actually shut down the PC itself. Whilst I usually get ~28C Idle, I'm now getting 35C. How can I fix this? I've tried placing it in turbo, and default (as it was before), but to no avail.
I've had to reset 3 times now.

Re: Low CPU Fan RPM
I know nothing about tweaking settings on mobos... but if setting uGuru to defaults doesn't work, take the battery out of your mobo for a few mins then put it back in to erase all the settings you changed and revert it back to factory defaults.

Re: Low CPU Fan RPM
Don't use the OC presets in uGuru.... as I and other found they tend to not be so stable.... uGuru is great and has it's uses, but I feel the OC profiles is not one of them, personally speaking. Leave the uGuru profile at Default, and do your OCing in the BIOS. Then your stable OC becomes the Default and will be stable and reliable - changing OC settings on the fly in Windows sounds great in theory, but does not seem to work too well in practice.
Now go unto uGuru with the Default profile and click SetUp, FanEQ and set the fan parameters as User Defined and set the volts and temps ranges for each fan in your system. Easy, and it works well. You may find that you need a 4 pin PWM fan (as fitted to the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 for instance) for Fan EQ to work correctly on the CPU fan, it will work correctly on all the other 3 pin fans - but they are 3 pin headers, and the CPU is a 4 pin header.

Re: Low CPU Fan RPM
hello,
Thanks for your help guys, but it literally just sorted itself out. :D
I shut it down and let it cool, and the next day everything is fine.
