    SATA to PATA?

Hi, I have a SATA harddisk with data I want to access. The SATA MoBo isn't working, but I have an old MoBo with standard/PATA ports in it. Is there a cable I can purchase to convert? I tried searching to SATA to PATA converters but the results kept bringing back PATA to SATA!

Any other solutions/suggestions are also welcome.

You could try a SATA to USB cable if you have a fully working machine. Look at this google product search:

Probably as cheap buying an external enclosure, and drop the sata drive in it.

About £5 delivered if you can wait a little bit for it

There are others on the site but I don't know how suitable they would be, just search "IDE SATA" and see what you get

    Re: SATA to PATA?

Have a look on ebay as well, there's plenty of cheap converters on there. The deal extreme seems good but you might have to wait a few weeks from it (it looked like that when I tried to order one anyway).
