    Re: Headset

I've used the preverous version of the logitech ones and they did start to hurt my ears after a bit of use, but they may have fixed that.

Currently have Logitech Precision Gaming Headset ~£17.80 from ebuyer and others which are quite good.

I have heard that speed-link medusa range is also quite good and have a 5.1 version but I have not tried them myself

    Re: Headset

I had a speedlink medusa set, but the amp was pants (5 years ago) and was horribly supseptable to EMI, mobile phone used to annoy the hell out of me, but I should have been annoyed at speedlink, when I got around to emailing them they didn't reply either time, so 0 points on customer support or satisfaction, however, the headphones themselves were flawless, awesome sound. The Scythe you pointed to is based off the same headphone design, probably OEM rebranded from speedlink, and since there's no badly designed amp to worry about it should provide you with years of audio bliss.

    Nice and cheap headset.
You can unplug the mic if you don't need it, and plug it back in if you do.

Agreed. Did a 10hr online race recently, and they started to hurt a touch then, but it wasn't particularly painful. I'd recommend them.

    Re: Headset

I like Plantronics headsets, I have the Gamcon 1 (which is out of your price range, but I have used the Gamecom X20 at a friend house (these are £19.96 inc VAT) and are very comfortable (even after hours of playing) from http://plantronics.corpteluk.com/page.cfm?pageid=4388

    Edit:

I just clicked through that link I gave you, and it gave me a discount of £4.25, for a total of £14.97 (including next day post, I think)

The Speedlink headset I got never caused any pain no matter how long I used them.

    Re: Headset

Honestly I don't see the big deal with Sennheiser's budget range, they don't have good sound, they're too small and uncomfortable.
