Real time is GMT (Or wherever you are in the world) and the system clock is literally the clock according to the system bios and Windows
i've just had this posted on another forum
answer taken straight from uni exam paper:
"The system clock is an oscillator connected to the cpu and controlled by a quartz crystal whose function is to provide timing signals to synchronise control operations in the microprocessor-based system. It's frequency defines the execution speed of the cpu since each instruction takes a certain number of clock cycles to complete. A real time clock is an integrated circuit used to keep track of time and date that is present in most microcomputers. It usually has a back-up battery so that it continues to operate even when the mains supply is switched off."
i think that explains it :)
