    Help it's all changed!!!!!

I am quite lazy when looking at new technolgies and only look when I need to upgrade. However I have been totally confused by the range available this time. I have the following

    AMD 64 3500
    DF Infinity SLI-D
    Tagan 480w PSU
    XFX 6800 GT
    22" Samsung widescreen LCD

I am now looking to upgrade but have not got a clue which way to go it's all changed since I last looked.. Looking for a machine to run my big three ETQW, WOW and when it is released Warhammeronline. I don't want to spend too much and want to know if I can keep my Old tagan PSU. Thought about the following:

    1 x Asus P5K-E WiFi Intel P35 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
    1 x Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 "LGA775 Conroe" 2.40GHz (1066FSB) - Retail
    1 x Corsair 2GB DDR2 XMS2-6400C5 TwinX (2x1GB)
BFG GeForce 8800 GTS OC 640MB GDDR3 HDTV

Tagan should be fine with that setup - which is actually overkill for your desired games! But it'll stand you well for some time in the future.

    I would go for the

Abit IP35 Pro with the E6750 Core 2 Duo 1333FSB otherwise should be fine

Thanks sounds good, I bought a PS3 to play the serious games I could not resist the draw of the cell processor and on my nice 37" HD TV it looks great.

Well I would just upgrade your graphics card for now. Memory is a bit low (certainly for warcraft) but other than that the system isn't that outdated.

Agre with the above. V/C upgrade should be more then enough. Going from 1GB to 2GB in my system I didnt see much improvement in wow. But going from a 6800 gt to a 7950 GT certainly did.

There is some value in 2Gb. Oblivion was constantly trashing my hard drive with only 1Gb, but is much slicker with 2. No experience with WoW though.

    Re: Help it's all changed!!!!!

I would seriously consider the GeForce 8800GT 512 MB over the BFG GeForce 8800 GTS OC 640MB. The GT, despite having less onboard memory, outperforms the GTS and at a cheaper price. There *is* a new GTS coming out that should outperform the new GT, but its a safe bet it'll cost more too (possibly in the range of the old GTS). If you're on a budget, and/or don't want to wait to see how the new GTS card does, I'd go with the GT. It *almost* performs as well as a GTX i nthe benchmarks I've seen, and at half the price. And for what you're playing you don't really need one of those expensive cards. Just my two cents...you could use the money you save in getting a GT to get more RAM or something.
