    A64 Multipier unlocked?

The Hexus review of the Abit KV8 MAX 3 would suggest this is so : "One glimmer of light is the apparent unlocked nature of Athlon 64 3200+ CPUs. It's up to board manufacturers to implement multiplier adjustments, then."

However posting on Abits forums im told that there locked
At the moment im running 10 x 222 on my KV8 mobo which maxes out the mobo, prolly my vid card or sound card hiting the limits on the AGP / PCI bus.
Theres lots more I can get from this CPU if I could adjust the multi's as at the moment ive maxed it out on stock cooling and stock volts.

So can someone clear this up for me?

    Thanks.

The only 64 bit Athlons that are unlocked AFAIK are the FX chips. I could be wrong though.

Yeah, I think you can only lower the multi on the Athlon64's but on the FX you can raise and lower it...

Not that either are much use due to the crappy chipsets out now
