What's the standard software for bench testing a PCs performance now? I've got plenty of utilities like 3DMark, PCMark, Pifast, Everest 'n' that, but what about games? Far Cry used to the be the standard but isn't that a bit old now? Is it FEAR? Half Life?
Well, as far as gaming goes. Lost planet, FEAR and Company of Heroes has built in benchmarks to test out fps.
There might be others though.
3Dmark06 and oZone3d are the synthetic ones I use, but theres also Aquamark although it doesn't work on my (XP64) system.

I'm interested in that as well with two different systems running C2D.......nice to have a all in one program that would test the "power/performance" of a computer with/without a graphic card that can be compared if setup on other computers.
2nd computer gigabyte P965ds3p, 7770 E2140@2.9ghz, corsair HX520 6 years stable, replaced now with E8400@3.9ghz and will overclock more when I'm bored.

Cool beans...so Lost Planet, FEAR and Company of Heroes for games. What's Everest benchmarks like? How reliable are its memory tests and so on?
Are the Lost Planet and CoH demos suitable? Don't want to have to buy the games just to bench test.
