    Asus P5N-E Sli Bios Update

Can anyone point me in the direction of the latest Bios for the Asus P5N-E Sli, and a guide on how to update it.

    Edit:

Found the latest Version, 0703. My current version is 505.

All I need is a guide about how to do it. What I need to do it. Ect..

    Thanks in Advance,
    Luke

All the directions for updating the BIOS should be right there on the Asus site. Just use their utility, its never given me a problem, its really straight forward.

Just navigate to the download section, chose your board, go to bios utilities, download and run the latest version of the flash program (Phoenix Award BIOS flash tool version 1.19), follow the instructions and flash to 703.

Out of interest, why are you flashing it? Unless you've got issues its not worth bothering with.

Re: Asus P5N-E Sli Bios Update

I found it all. I have tried using their latest version. Downloaded it multiple times, flashed and it appears as the 0307 Revision, not 0703. First time it screwed everything. Wouldnt run windows. Crashed and pixelated just before the Windows Boot Screen Appears.

Managed to get it back working using my iPod and the BIOS EZ Flash 2. I dont know what to try now, though. Is there any other place where the real 0703 would be available ?

I am flashing due to experiencing some problems with it. Random Crashes. I read in a few places that updating to the new bios removes this problem.

Generally the way I do it is...

ignore the Windows flashing utility - it's widely known to be prone to have a hissy fit just when you don't want it to and b0rk your board.

Download the BIOS from the Asus site and put it on a USB drive (http://support.asus.com/download/dow...Language=en-us)
Reboot your machine and enter EZ Flash (the key combo escapes me at present, but as you've done it already)
Point EZ Flash at your USB key, flash BIOS.

That's it. No interference from Antivirus, no corrupt flash. Does exactly what it says on the tin.

Re: Asus P5N-E Sli Bios Update

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but does anyone have any idea what the best BIOS is for the P5N-E SLi? I've seen conflicting reports, and am not sure how to proceed - any advice gratefully received.

Re: Asus P5N-E Sli Bios Update

I would assume the latest bios would be the best, they generally try to improve performance and remove bugs.

Re: Asus P5N-E Sli Bios Update

Well, I've read that the latest (0801?) causes crashes and whatnot, which is what I'm experiencing now... Just going to check what BIOS I have, but I'm pretty sure it's 0703...

    /edit: Tell a lie, 0401... Hmmm, 0703, here I come.
