Will my PSU hold out for a week?

    Hi all,

Will my current PSU HIPER TYPE-R 580w power my upgraded system arriving in a couple days?

    Q6600
    Asus Maximus Formula X38
    X800 XT PE
    2Gb High performance RAM
    3 SATA HD's
    X-Fi
    DVD-RW
    Card Reader
    5 x 120mm Fans

I will only use this PSU for a week or so until the new Zalman 750w is available in the UK and will then upgrade.

It will almost certainly cope fine, I'd bet.

The biggest power draws are traditionally the CPU and the graphics card, and a 580W PSU will cope fine with a Q6600 and a much, much more power-intensive graphics card.

Considering you wont use over 300W, I'd say you're pretty safe
